The Tahnimara Foundation was created to honor the legacy of Roy Foote by helping aspiring pilots pursue their dreams of flight.
Through charitable donations and community support, the Foundation provides scholarships and assistance for lighter-than-air flight training, educational expenses, certification costs, and other opportunities that help new pilots enter the world of ballooning.
Honoring the Legacy of Roy Foote
Roy Foote dedicated his adult life to reaching for the stars. He fell in love with ballooning in 1986 and logged more than 2,500 hours as a commercial lighter-than-air pilot throughout the Pacific Northwest.
Roy touched countless lives through his flying, mentorship, and the friendships he built within the ballooning community. His passion for aviation and generosity toward others continue to inspire those who knew him.
Whether helping a student earn their first rating, sharing his knowledge with fellow pilots, or introducing newcomers to ballooning, Roy believed in lifting others up and helping them succeed.
